I can recall my dad doing family devotions with us growing up. He would usually give a story and then relate a Biblical lesson to that story. While I can’t recall all of the stories, as there thousands of them, I do remember the overarching theme behind them: do what is right.
Dr. Tony Evans and his son Jonathan have written a devotional to encourage a family to come together over the truths of God’s Word. Each day there is a Scripture to read, a devotional reading, and then a call to put into action what was learned. The days are short in length, most being less than a full page, but that does not negate the impact they can have.
I recommend that this devotional be used as a supplement to the family devotion time that already exist. If you do not have a family devotional time, start with this devotional. It may be the tool needed to challenge the growth in your family as God-followers. Read an excerpt here to decide.
